Moving drains the mind and spirit!

Hi All,

Just in case you are wondering if I've fallen off the planet, the answer is almost YES!
I recently sold my house and moved - all happening in 7 weeks except for the months of cleaning and repairs prior.

Needless to say this left me little time to paint with work schedules and moving demands. Whew!
Still dealing with unpacking and boxes stacked high in the garage, but I hope I am back at the easel in the very near future... until then I'm visualizing a lot of beautiful images that could make wonderful paintings.

Portrait Sketches

The following two oil sketches were done at the Arts Alive Gallery Portrait Sessions.
Each done in about an hour. Haven't done portraits from life in a long while, so these sessions are a real treat...

Apple Blossoms

This little painting is number 7 in a series of paintings from photograph. I used all transparent oil colors except the white which is a mix of zinc and titanium.

Yellow Squash - SOLD

I know this sounds a little crazy, but this painting wanted to be painted. I love the large eucalyptus leaves and the yummy yellow squash.

Pear Mums & Blueberries

I decided to do a very warm painting with familiar objects from life. I think this painting finished with higher rendering than most quick studies I do from photograph.

Bosc Pear with Grapes

This painting is the fifth in a series of small studies from photograph and was done while stuck at home in the snow. I thought working on it might help stave off my cabin fever.

Before Ghost Ranch 2009

This image was painted in 2009 just before my trip to Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, New Mexico. I was feeling inspired by the anticipation of the Southwest colors!!
