Plate, Onion, and Poppies

After this, I plan to work with a new palette of colors. I will do a similar image to see what subtle differences might surface, wish me luck!!!

Shiny Pots and Posies...

One thing that catches my interest as a painter is how reflections play out in a painting, specifically how they worked on shiny metal containers. Even if they are not in shadow, they are still reflected light, yes? So I painted the following two - one copper and one brass.

Paintings drying on the rack...

I promise I haven't fallen off the face of the planet. Just been really busy helping others the past couple months. However, I do have a couple of paintings drying on the rack I'll share in the next couple posts.

Sunflowers are wonderfully interesting to paint and can be very fun to interpret. Petals can take on an impressionistic look or be rendered photographically.

Other images on the rack will be in the next post.

I did a similar image as the one above, and decided to do this one because I've begun exploring composition. This one has a strong sinister diagonal whereas the previous image was done with a stronger baroque diagonal - hence the almost mirror image.

Fe, Phi, Fo, Fum - I smell the blood of an Englishman!

I had to share this Myron Barnstone video - He is 80 years young, and opinionated in the best possible way.

In this video, he shares his take on the ongoing question "What is Art"?

Don't you love it???
