During the January 30/30 Challenge I attempted a process called fracturing and painted an image called
Fractured Apple. I thought I'd try again because of experiencing an interesting sense of creativity that was loose and somewhat abstract while exploring the process.
So here is the second attempt to play with this process, and I experienced the same feeling in the process. The only changes were the pear and the berries.

After looking at this for a couple days now, I think I see this process as a metaphor for creativity because out of the chaos on the surface markings there is still an order to the image. It feels expressive and freeing to do something like this after so many years of more formal efforts.
This is really nice and painterly. It gives it a lot of interest. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is also a lot of fun when feeling overwhelmed about perfection. Thanks for commenting.
DeleteYou described it well - Out of the chaos comes order. The personal expression of the individual artist dictates how much order. This has a vitality which coupled with beautiful colors makes it a pleasure to look at.
ReplyDeleteI know I leave more visible chaos than I would 'normally' paint, but it is so freeing to be so spontaneous and expressive. Thanks for taking time to comment.
DeleteIt is lovely. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda. It is a lot of fun to paint this way occasionally...
